The Family Shelter Garden

S-building-garden sheltervegies   s-boy#2

Our large, volunteer-run garden provides healthy snacks for children living at the shelter–and a lot of learning activities as well. The children help volunteers plant and harvest fresh fruits and veggies such as peas, carrots, corn, beans and raspberries. They get to learn about healthy eating habits and the satisfaction of growing their own food.

Stay tuned throughout the summer season for dispatches from the garden.
