Interfaith Housing Partnership
Lack of affordable housing is at a near-crisis level in our area and is the most frequently cited reason for homelessness in Snohomish County. This lack of basic housing directly impacts our ability to serve the large number of families that currently need emergency shelter.
The Interfaith Housing Partnership directly addresses this need by assisting families ready to move from our shelter but are unable to find affordable housing. Interfaith develops relationships with landlords, housing providers, faith groups and other organizations to subsidize rent in existing housing.
Then we work with each family to develop a specific plan with the goal of financial independence within 1-3 years. Interfaith provides case management as a key element of this plan, helping to ensure the family can become self-sufficient by maintaining jobs, improving financial literacy skills, using resources to improve family communication, parenting and seeking education and training.
